I was looking to design something fun and witty as well as practical and usable on a daily basis. In order to combine wit and function, I wanted to try and combine opposites or place things out of context.

The design carries a dialogue between artificiality and reality as well as permanence and materials. The log’s natural cylindrical shape is perfect for a flower vase or to hold votive candles. The concrete captures the intricacies of the bark, while at the same time being eco-friendly and water tight.
